Our Story

Speak2Youth Advocacy was founded by Eden Shaw in August of 2025 with a simple goal in mind: to create resources for children globally to feel confident in themselves and their ability to advocate for their passions.

As a Teacher Assistant for a Sunday School kindergarten class, Eden realized that many students were struggling to express themselves respectfully, leading to constant meltdowns outside the realm of "normal" for young learners. She recognized the same pattern of poor communication skills in  elementary and middle schoolers at the local schools she tutored at.

After researching curriculum requirements in primary and secondary education across the US, she discovered that many schools do not explicitly teach students how to send professionally-formatted emails, communicate effectively, and manage difficult interactions with tools. When those skills are suddenly expected of students in high school, they struggle.

Speak2Youth Advocacy was born with the goal of filling that gap. Eden is determined to equip young students with the skills to advocate for themselves and others confidently. Through interactive presentations and activities, this international  student-led organization prepares today's youth for difficult conversations and powerful assertions.
